I carefully enlarged the 8mm ID hole to 9mm, then successfully threaded it to M10. My goal is for this approach to yield similar results with even greater efficiency, using fewer tools and saving time in the process. The Part hole has a slightly conical shape, which will accommodate a M4 screw.
