Mechanical Prosthetic Concept Model

This Mechanical Prosthetic Concept was crafted for Bold Machines in zBrush by Jose Alves da Silva as a developmental platform for Field Ready, http://www.fieldready.org - a global non-profit organization dedicated to disaster relief efforts worldwide. The main objective was to create a fully 3D printed prosthetic hand that could be assembled without the need for screws, nuts/bolts or tools (since these items might be unattainable in remote areas). We utilized fabric strips and elastic bands cut from shorts for testing purposes. The secondary goal was to make the design files accessible for others to modify and improve - allowing for specific needs-based development and redesign. We encourage you to download this model on Cults, test it out, and make any necessary modifications. Please share photos of your print with us!
