Mechanical laser scanner ver2.0
thingiverse
This laser scanning system is designed to work with DAVID 3D Scanner software; however, it requires purchasing the software for full functionality. The free version allows trying out features like high-resolution screenshots of scans. To assemble the scanner, use a Taylor kitchen timer from Target ($3, PN: 5833-21), custom Makerbot parts, two M3 screws/nuts, and a red or green focusable line laser. Follow these steps: buy the timer, remove its dial and retaining pins; print and assemble the mount, laser horn, and laser clip; attach a 12mm diameter line laser; wire the laser to a power source; set the laser's direction and winding position. Assemble the base, supports, and attach them to an M8 rod. Download DAVID software from www.david-laserscanner.com for scanning with your webcam.
