Mechanical Iris Ring Box
thingiverse
Here's a video of how this thing works https://vimeo.com/295852070 Here's the description of this thing on my website https://www.karolyfodor.com/mechanical-iris-ring-box-1 I designed this ring box with SolidWorks and printed its parts with a Prusa i3 MK2S. For the wood-like parts, I used Gizmodorks' woodfill PLA filament, while for everything else, I chose Solutech's green PLA filament. To get a more authentic wood look, I simply applied some indoor furniture wood stain. I've provided assembly instructions below. You'll also need to gather the following hardware: - An 8mm aluminum rod, approximately 53mm long - Three pieces of 8mm aluminum rod, each 8mm long - Four pieces of 1/8" aluminum rod, each about 0.3" long - Four roller bearings with an outer diameter of 9.525, an inner diameter of 3.175, and a width of 3.969. These can be found on MSC. - Three #8 machine screws and nuts Good luck, and let me know if it works. EDIT on 16:54 EST, October 23, 2018: Added missing file "elevator slots.STL".
