The Gruidae family encompasses tall, long-legged, and long-necked birds in the group Gruiformes. Across four genera, there are fifteen species of crane. Contrasting herons, which they resemble, cranes fly with their necks extended rather than pulled back. These avian creatures can be found on all continents except Antarctica and South America.
