This is my interpretation of how a mechanical address decoder might be built, drawing inspiration from the Zuse Z1 and Z2 programmable calculators. The gray baseplate serves as a guide for the red address lines and blue address selected bars. The actual decoding process occurs within the address selected bars themselves. Interestingly, the leftmost address line is actually an enable line. This design has been superseded by https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3666410, which better aligns mechanically with other Zuse-inspired components.
