I scale hexes to fit the most widely used printed hex maps in mecha wargames. Top surfaces between hexes are scored but otherwise left unmarked, requiring you to mark light and heavy forests separately yourself. This approach keeps hills useful for future games on open hex maps, allowing you to swap and combine them freely!
