Mecanum Wheels
thingiverse
This design is an improvement on Zaggo's original concept. Key enhancements include a reinforced perimeter around the bearings and increased width of the rollers. These adjustments address the common issue of cracking and breaking due to stress concentrated in the thin walls surrounding the bearings. I have uploaded two variations: one tailored for 8mm shafts and another compatible with standard 5mm stepper motor shafts. Please view this brief video demonstration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NohwUDOjMZY Assembly Instructions: 1. Prepare all parts necessary by printing six wheels - three regular wheels and three mirrored wheels. 2. Print each wheel at a recommended infill level of 70% and the rollers at an optimized infill rate of 40%. 3. To construct one complete wheel, gather and secure the following components: - 8 M4 x 60mm bolts - 8 locknuts (recommended for added security) - 8 624 bearings - 32 M4 washers
