Mecanum Wheel with rubber wrapped rollers for TT motor
thingiverse
This is a remix of the 44mm Mecanum Wheel from Jonah_Innoart for geared TT motor. I used elastic rubber tube to wrap rollers, improving movability. Part list: - 27mm Dressmaker Pins - 4x TT motors - 4x RC servo screws - Elastic rubber tube (Inner diameter: 2mm, Outer Diameter: 5mm, cut to 22mm length each) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32826819065.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dxN6rvZ Tools: - 4x 2mm metal shaft (10cm long) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32823043246.html?spm=2114.search0604.3.8.21321b2cLQ5DR2&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0%2Csearchweb201602_7_10065_10068_319_10059_10884_317_10887_10696_321_322_10084_453_10083_454_10103_10618_10307_537_536%2Csearchweb201603_53%2CppcSwitch_0&algo_expid=7a639358-1b34-48bb-b316-4a76842517e3-1&algo_pvid=7a639358-1b34-48bb-b316-4a76842517e3 - 3D printed guide - 2x 3D printed shaft holder - Soap water - Spanner - Screw driver The most challenging part is wrapping the small rubber tube around rollers. To do this, follow these steps: Step 1: Place soap water in a container and submerge the 4 shafts inside the rubber tube (at the middle). Step 2: Use the 3D printed guide to widen the shafts evenly. Step 3: Attach the Shaft Holders at both ends of the shafts. Step 4: Insert the roller into the hole on the Shaft Holder and drop it inside the shafts. Step 5: Twist the Shaft Holders in opposite directions to expand the rubber tube (use a spanner). Step 6: Push the roller to the middle of the rubber tube. Step 7: Remove three of the shafts first, being careful not to let the rubber stay in the roller. Step 8: Roll the remaining shaft around the roller to get the rubber in place. Step 9: Pull out the last shaft. It may be a bit difficult at first, but once you master the trick, it will become easy. I did it for all rollers by myself, but if you have someone to help, it'll be much easier. The shafts need to be hard enough to resist the strong shrinking force from the rubber, so they should not be too long. Also, the shafts I used have a taper at both ends which makes it easier to slide into the rubber tube and not tear it.
