Mecanum Wheel Rover 2
thingiverse
This revised Mecanum Wheel Base is based on the original design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5206), featuring simplified 3D models for easier printing and more common components. The modifications include a servo frame with 1.6mm mounting holes spaced 10mm apart (suitable for M2 screws) and a battery holder/frame to accommodate 2x2 and 2x3 AA batteries. Additionally, an Infocast/Chumby frame has been added to fit Insignia Infocast/Chumby One and Chumby Hackerboard Main PCBs. For complete instructions, visit http://www.madox.net/blog/2011/01/24/mecanum-wheel-rover-2/. Due to Thingiverse's character issues, some instructions may be truncated. Printing was done using an Up! printer with 0.25mm layer thickness and solid settings for the main parts, 'fine' for rollers and hub, and 'normal' for others. Be cautious when printing the hub to avoid sag; supports may be necessary. Position the rollers with hex side up to prevent support issues. Adjust frame orientations according to your printer's requirements, as some holes are best printed in the Z direction on FDM printers.
