Mecanum Robot Platform
thingiverse
This is the mecanum wheel robot platform to go along with my wheels (thing:1454685), which is currently in development. The stepper motors (Nema17 65inoz) arrived this week, but the stepper drivers A4988 will be delivered later. I'll post updates as it's completed. The design rolls and accommodates either an Arduino Uno or Mega with ample space for batteries or add-ons that would fit onto the frame's bolt patterns, see layout PDF. My plan is to use (4) A4988 sets onto (2) mini breadboards located in the central structure. Initially, I intend to use an external power supply before moving to a fully wireless design/programming setup. (I have yet to create a program.) From there, I will consider end effectors or potential uses for this platform. I'm looking forward to seeing what others come up with! Components used in this design: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1454685 http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:26237 https://grabcad.com/library/arduino-uno-5 https://grabcad.com/library/reprap-stepstick-stepper-motor-driver-module-1 https://grabcad.com/library/mini-breadboard Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Geeetech i3-C Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 100% Notes: The frame components are all 2mm thick and automatically achieved 100% infill with my settings. I estimate the print time to be around 8-10 hours, as the wheels took about 3-4 hours over three prints while only fitting two frame pieces on my 110x110mm table at a time. All components were printed in PLA using extruder temperatures of 185-215°C and a glass bed temperature of 60°C. I used light adhesive spray on smaller components, all without brim, raft, or supports.
