Meat Claws - Pull Your Pork

Meat Claws - Pull Your Pork

This weekend is the perfect opportunity to fire up the smoker and host a BBQ extravaganza with friends, so I'm going to slow cook a pork butt for 15 hours in anticipation of some great company. While I could use traditional methods to tenderize the meat, my 3D printer makes it possible to create custom tools that will take my grilling game to the next level. I've designed two versions of the tool, which you can see in the photo. The smaller one has a 90mm opening, whereas the larger version boasts an impressive 103mm opening. Initially, I opted for the smaller design to minimize plastic usage, but I'm now convinced that the larger one is the superior choice. I printed my tools with three layers of skin and 40% infill to ensure they can withstand the high temperatures associated with BBQ without compromising their integrity. No supports were needed during the printing process, but be cautious when removing them from the build plate as the claws are razor-sharp.
