Mean Well PSU Cover for 120mm Case Fan

Mean Well PSU Cover for 120mm Case Fan

thingiverse

This is a custom cover I designed to mount a 120mm PC case fan in place of the 60mm fan included in the Mean Well LRS-350 power supply. My PSU is a 24V unit, but this design will work just fine with a 12V PSU as well. Several designs are available for mounting 80mm and 92mm fans, but I opted to use my extra 120mm PC case fans instead. Most 120mm case fans should fit, provided you check the clearance for the fan wiring, which needs to go inside the case. This power supply is located at the bottom of my Two Trees Sapphire Pro printer, and I had just enough clearance to fit the 25mm thick fan. Be sure to verify your own clearances before proceeding. Thinner 15mm thick 120mm fans are also available if you're short on space. The 120mm fan is inaudible inside the printer, making it impossible for me to tell when it's spinning without lifting up the printer and taking a look. The 120mm fan also provides significantly more airflow over the PSU components. For a direct comparison of noise levels between the stock 60mm fan and my custom 120mm fan, check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_yF10GBc2A I've included Fusion 360 and STEP files for your own modification needs.
