Meade ETX-60 Solar Filter 62 mm Adapter

At the last minute I made up my mind to purchase a solar filter for my Meade ETX-60. I came up with a design for a lens cover and then modified it by adding an ISO threaded 0.75 pitch 62 mm hole (which printed best at 63.4 mm, so with shrinkage the filter had enough grip to dig in and stay), as you can see from the photo. The filter was a steal on ebay. It has good qualities for a low price glass adjustable density 0-400 filter. Try searching ebay for ZOMEI 52/55/58/62/67/72/77/82mm Adjustable Neutral Density Fader filter ND2-400 or search for the supplier 2014bingozomei. Purist photographers hate adjustable filters because they introduce artifacts in the details through polarization. Check out a positive review of the zomei at the end of this bulletin board post: https://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=28801.0 The files included here are the ETX-60 filter adapter (it's my lens cap with a hole punched in it) and a test disk to try out the hole without printing a complete lens cap (make sure it is cold before releasing from table or it will warp and not work-it's 3 mm thick) and finally the ISO hole if you want to punch a hole in your own lens cap design to adapt a filter. Be aware that the test disk is included separately, despite being shown in the thumbnail above with the adapter cap. WARNING WILL ROBINSON WARNING! The screw and the test disk are UPSIDE DOWN in the files above. When you adapt these file to your own end cap design make sure you FLIP THEM 180 DEGREES. If you forget you will have a big surprise with the threads going the wrong way. WARNING WARNING WARNING. The solar filter cap is threaded correctly and the file prints correctly because the thread must start on the heated surface not as oriented in the parts above, that's why you flip it, the orientation of the threads to how the adapter is being printed. The fit is snug on the ETX-60, like an end cap.
