Meade ETX 125 Screw On Dew Shield
thingiverse
Here is a continuation of my screw on dew shields for the ETX line of scopes. This one was a request for a ETX-125 version. This is for the original ETX-125 not the new ETX Observer. You can flip this around and it will fit over the scope for storage with the scope. Note: The ETX-125 has much finer threads on the objecting lens that the other ETX scopes I have done (60, 70, 80). There is no way a FDM printer can print these reliably. Thus I "doubled" the threads. It works as it's plastic but you need to be careful as not to cross thread it when you put it on. I made this thin with only 3 walls on the tube. This is so it's light and doesn't add too much weight to the front of the ETX-125 which is already unbalanced. However it is lighter than my Astro Zap Velcro flexible dew shield! (Which I never really liked how it fit). To print this so the base is strong. Set your slicer for 8 walls. If you don't you will get a lot of infill in the base and the overhang bevel may not print right. Enjoy!
