MDRK offroad wheels for Traxxas 1.9 tires
thingiverse
I fabricated replacement wheels for my Traxxas TRX4. The wheels had a tendency to spin freely inside the tires, prompting me to opt out of gluing them in place. Instead, I designed some "beadlock" type rims as an alternative solution. The rim comprises three distinct components: the outer face, the inner locking mechanism, and a compression ring. To complete the assembly, you'll need five to six M2.5x10-12 screws. First, insert the compression ring into the tire, followed by the other two parts, each attached from opposite sides. I printed these rims at 0.2 layer height with supports touching the bed. I used a moderate infill density of 15% and positioned the mating surfaces on the print bed for optimal alignment. To ensure accurate holes, I recommend pre-drilling them before assembly – use a 2 mm drill bit for the outer part and a 2.5 mm drill bit for the inner component.
