MDR XB950BT Hinge Now Solder Less
thingiverse
I've remade the hinge and it's now solder-free. Some people requested a different design since not everyone was comfortable with soldering, and the previous non-solder option was bulky and unattractive. You no longer need the metal pin, but you will require 2 M3 screws. The blue rubber o-rings connecting the hinge to the cup are still optional, but they'll be much better if you use them. If I can find the original screws, I can upload a second version with smaller holes for those screws. So I have two pairs of MDR XB950BT headphones where one broke the part that holds the cup and the other broke the headband. I've created these two options to allow others to fix their headphones as well. The first option uses all the original parts from the headphones, replacing only the part that holds the earcup. With this option, you'll need to desolder and un-snake the cable from the original, then snake it back through the new printed one. Make sure you note where the wires were soldered before; you can't rely solely on looking at the other side, as the wire order is switched but marked. For this option, I suggest adding supports only from the bed to the part and not inside, as they would be hard to remove. In my case, they weren't needed since they're just round tunnels. The second option uses parts from the EQ1 headphones uploaded by 3DCentralVA (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:674179). I modified the headband to fit my design. You'll need to print more parts, but you don't have to solder unless you find it easier. You could simply continue breaking or cutting the plastic to free the cable; you don't have to break the plastic on the earcups. The new pictures in black are the v2, and the silver ones are the v1.
