MD 421 Microphone Housing
thingiverse
This is my first submission and is a housing Thingi for a microphone made in the 60s, but still available for sale now with a black housing in its new incarnation. This was modelled specifically for the old version and may or may not work as a replacement for the Mk2 microphones. The clip and clip connection are notorious for failing (as shown on one of the photographs) and I have been unable to obtain a housing, specifically in white. The model is by no means perfect, but I have gone as far as I need to go as my old faithful is up and running and is, cosmetically much more attractive. Since printing I have eased off on the tolerances a bit as it was a tight fit, needing strategic sanding. The outside was sanded with 240 grade sandpaper and then 400 and 1200 grade wet and dry. I am not for one moment going to recommend settings and teach you how to suck eggs. I used 90% infill with a layer height of 0.1 and for my setup was very happy with the results - and even more happy that the old girl is no longer held together with duct/gaffa tape.
