MCS HELIX Magazine speedload L Part

MCS HELIX Magazine speedload L Part

thingiverse

This part allows the MCS Helix mag to be speed-loadable with an L part available in two sizes, separating spring and door activation instead of them triggering simultaneously. However, achieving this can be challenging, particularly when using a speed loader like one from HazMat, as any damage or wear on the door part may impact the magazine's activation. The longer 2885mm L part minimizes the tolerance between door and spring activation but poses a risk: the spring will activate during speed loading, potentially causing paint breakage within the magazine and speed loader. Conversely, the shorter 2870mm L part offers a greater tolerance for door and spring activation but may result in the spring failing to activate. In this case, the magazine won't feed at all. If the L part is too short, the mag won't load via the speed loader, and the spring will remain unactivated within the marker. Testing each mag multiple times is recommended as it's normal for some magazines to require either the shorter or longer L part. This variation may be due to door part wear, so carrying extras during events can be beneficial in case a different L part is needed.
