McNaughton Tool-rest Head

McNaughton Tool-rest Head

thingiverse

This is a 3D printable copy of my McNaughton tool-rest head (mine is an older model. It would be easy for some with a newer model to change the OpenSCAD file for the newer model/s) It has a 1” hole in the bottom that allows it to be mounted in a banjo using a dowel (or turned spindle) to raise the head up to the top of the bowl blank. This make it easier to determine which on the three McNaughton curved cutters to use. The tool, minus the handle, can be placed on top of the bowl blank in the correct slot of the 3D printed head to show where the cut will be made. See http://www.3dprintingandwoodturning.com/Tools/McNaughton%20Center%20Saver.pdf for a description of how I use it.
