The F2H Banshee, a twin-engine jet fighter by McDonnell Aircraft, replaced its predecessor, the FH-1 Phantom, from 1948 to 1961. It boasted larger, more powerful engines than its forerunner. Post-1962, F2H-4 models were redesigned F2H-3s with tail and stabilizer modifications, along with electrical and aerodynamic enhancements. The final version of the Banshee included a Hughes AN/APG-37 radar in its cockpit, and production concluded in 1953.
