The Banshee, created by McDonnell Aircraft from 1948 to 1961, was a development of the FH-1 Phantom, featuring larger, more powerful engines. In 1962, F2H-4 emerged as a redesigned version of F2H-3 under the unified designations system, with changes made in tail, stabilizers, and electrical/aerodynamic aspects. The final H4 variant featured a Hughes AN/APG-37 radar in its cockpit. Production ceased in 1953.
