The F2H Banshee, a twin-engine jet fighter built by McDonnell Aircraft from 1948 to 1961, succeeded the FH-1 Phantom with larger, more powerful engines. The F2H-2, an enhanced version, included detachable wingtip fuel tanks, eight underwing weapons stores, and Westinghouse turbojet engines. Out of 308 produced, it was the second production variant. Equipped with four nose-mounted machine guns, the Banshee also featured an ejection seat and multiple cockpit upgrades compared to its predecessor, ensuring full pressurization and air conditioning.
