The F2H Banshee, a twin-engine jet fighter built by McDonnell Aircraft from 1948 to 1961, was a development of its predecessor, the FH-1 Phantom. Known for its larger and more powerful engines, the Banshee's F2H-3 version underwent redesigning in 1962 through the unified designations system. Production ceased in 1953. Notable changes included tail and stabilizer alterations in the H4 model, as well as electrical and aerodynamic enhancements. The final version of the Banshee featured a Hughes AN/APG-37 radar in its cockpit.
