McDonnell F2H-2 Banshee Developed from the Phantom, McDonnel's Banshee was a long-range escort fighter with exceptional capabilities. The F2H took to the skies with the US Navy and Marine Corps beginning in 1948; its final aircraft retired in 1961. The Canadian military purchased second-hand Banshees in 1955, utilizing them as interceptors until 1962. During the Korean conflict, the Banshee proved itself a valuable asset as a fighter-bomber, operating from US Navy carriers but generally avoiding MiG Alley due to its inferior performance against Russian swept-wing jets. Notably, there are no recorded instances of air-to-air battles between Banshees and MiGs. The model represents the F2H-2 variant most widely used in Korea. Both variants with and without wingtip tanks are included. This 1:100 scale model was printed at a scale of 1:285 using a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.08mm layers. The model is designed to be printed in two halves, as depicted in the provided image. Minor changes were made on September 19, 2019.
