The MD-90 was the extended fuselage version of the MD-80 series of commercial jet airliners, designed to accommodate up to 172 passengers. Its first flight occurred in 1993 and it began service with Delta Airlines in 1995. As the longest model in the series at 152 feet 7 inches, it featured two variants: the MD-90-30 and MD-90-30ER (extended range). A total of 116 were built and have been flown by numerous airlines, charter, and cargo carriers worldwide.
