McCulloch Cabrio 380 Fixed Line String Petrol Trimmer Head
thingiverse
Good morning, I'm sharing a remix of Hs2k's Ryobi Fixed Line String Trimmer Head, but designed specifically for a petrol trimmer like the McCulloch Cabrio series - my model is based on the 380. I created this head because the original one was made for short strings and every time they broke, I had to open it by hand and pull out the new strings. To make it easier to use, I designed it with a simple mechanism that allows you to quickly install new strings using the original McCulloch bolt and internal spring. I printed this head on my Anet A8 3D printer using ABS filament at 235 degrees Celsius for the extruder and 95 degrees Celsius for the bed. The print settings were: 0.6 mm nozzle, 0.3 mm layer height, 100% infill, initial speed of 20, print speed of 45, movement speed of 90, retraction speed of 45, and 5.5 mm retraction distance with no fan. I'd like to thank all the people who helped me work on this 3D file design (Daniel, Filippo, Davide, etc.) for their valuable assistance. June 15th, 2019: Today I updated the lower part of the trimmer head by uploading the V2 version, which is about 6 millimeters higher than before. This change was necessary because some old McCulloch petrol grass trimmers have longer hexagonal screws that prevent the plastic strings from blocking in the correct position.
