MC80B Star Cruiser
thingiverse
The MC80B has a sleek, familiar look that's similar to earlier models, but it's been optimized for maximum firepower in the front line by clustering its guns in forward-facing clusters around the ship. The class's main reactor is strategically located on the ventral side of the vessel, while its bridge takes center stage on the dorsal side, right amidships. Flanking the ship are hangar bays. As an interim design, the MC80B outshines its predecessor by leaps and bounds. Its hull is heavily reinforced for maximum durability, and it boasts multiple backup deflector shield generators to protect itself from enemy fire. Turbolaser and shield projector blisters are strategically placed across the hull, while a sensor cluster sits proudly at the tip of the bow. Built for battle, these ships can withstand incredible damage before going down, thanks to their heavily reinforced hulls and state-of-the-art shielding technology. They're designed to blast through even the toughest Imperial defenses with ease. The MC80B is armed with an impressive arsenal: forty-eight turbolasers and twenty ion cannons that are linked in banks of twelve and four respectively, allowing it to concentrate its fire on a single target with deadly precision. These cruisers carry four starfighter squadrons by default, but later models can be refitted to hold up to eight. The standard fighter complement includes one A-wing squadron, two X-wings, and one B-wing squadron. One notable difference between the MC80B and its successor is that it wasn't designed with versatility in mind - unlike the MC90 Star Cruiser, it's not optimized for different species. Holographic displays and monitors are tailored to Mon Calamari vision, and some controls require movements that are challenging even for humans. I'm driven by a passion for sharing these iconic models from a beloved universe with fans worldwide. I obtain permission from creators whenever possible, but sometimes it proves difficult. As a labor of love, I strive to make these models usable for 3D printing and bring joy to fellow enthusiasts.
