MBU-14/P Oxygen Mask

MBU-14/P Oxygen Mask

prusaprinters

A replica of the MBU-14 (V) 1/P Oxygen Mask issued to all Naval aircrew members in fighters like the F-14 Tomcat, F/A-18 Hornet, A-6 Intruder, and other aircraft EA-6A, KA-60 (refueler), A-4 Skyhawk, and T-28s. Although not 100% accurate, this mask should fit well and can be 3D printed with ease (requires some supports). I've designed special parts on the "J" bayonets to allow it to interface with the helmet seen in the picture (a regular fighter pilot costume helmet found on Amazon). The air inlet is fitted for a 20mm diameter electric sheath tube. The AM-7067/A has enough space to accommodate a small microphone and it's cable if you wish to go all out and integrate a comms system! Enjoy! Print instructions1. Post-printing Additional parts required: Some 15mm nylon straps (or alternatively 30mm cut in half) x4 M5 washers x2 M5 bolts x2 M5 nuts The microphone from a cheap headset for the AM-7067/A (I used this one https://amz.run/44xR) (optional) The helmet (https://amz.run/44xT) (optional) Tools needed: Scissors Pliers Glue Paint Sewing equipment (for the straps) Assembly: [Refer to pictures] Assemble the AM-7067/A (optionally with the microphone) Place both Air inlet and AM-7067/A between the 2 halves of the mask and glue them tight Cut 8 lengths of nylon strap and fit them into the strap adjusters. Sew the straps but leave the tightening end loose. Make a hole at the tip of the straps and push a pin (Screw) into each of them Place the pins and straps into the holes on the mask. Glue the end caps inside the mask to prevent the pins from getting loose (T for top, B for bottom) Screw the J bayonet connector/slot onto the helmet using the M5 nuts and bolts. Slide the bayonets in and secure them with toothpicks (in the small holes at the tip) Customize your mask with a fresh coat of paint! You are done! Enjoy your MBU 14/p replica/prop! 😄 Bonus: If you have the helmet, you can also glue/attach the visor knob on top!
