MBS COMPACT DIRECT DRIVE
thingiverse
Design goals: - Balanced distribution of mass. Trying my best to make it not too tall and not too wide. - Let the center of mass close enough to the axis. - Make sure BMG and V6 are attached - no PTFE tube in between. - Use 4020 fan for lowering the noise. - Compatible with original E3d V6 30mm fan duct. - Wire goes backward to make sure it can reach full 250mm z axis height. - Minimizing material usage to lower the total weight. Installation: - Extruder nozzle has a 10mm Y offset from the original ender-3 nozzle because of BMG's design. There are two ways to fix it - Reduce the Y axis size by 10mm, which might slightly reduce your print bed size. - Or, you may put two new holes on 40×40 aluminum extrusion for the Y-axis base and move it by 20mm. Then by adjusting the Y endstop you will get full Y axis length. - You will need a slightly longer screw to hold the stepper motor and BMG together. Or you may just drill screw holes a little deeper on the BMG. - There are two screws to hold the mount base onto the back plate. To make it more rigid you can drill a third hole on the back plate and put a screw on it.
