Something Truly Unique I've been inspired by several innovative bowl/vase designs that have caught my attention. The ones that truly intrigue me are those that start with a chaotic design and transform it into something orderly, or those with a highly technical design that can only be manufactured through additive manufacturing. Inspired primarily by the latter with a hint of the former, I present to you the "Maze Bowl." Can you follow my lead? That winding, twisting line visible from above is actually one single continuous line that undulates around the circumference of this creation. When printed, it produces a beautiful ribbon-like fold all around the bowl. Simple yet complex in its design The overall shape is quite straightforward. However, when printed with translucent filament, the interplay between shadow and light results in an ever-changing form depending on the viewing angle. This is also a relatively simple print, requiring gentle slopes and moderate speed to achieve a smooth surface without any echoes. The print shown in the photos was achieved at 30 mm/s but the result makes it well worth the effort. How Will You Use It? Although perhaps not too practical as an actual bowl, you may find numerous other uses for this design. Perhaps it will become a shade for an LED lamp, or a diffuser for a camera flash. Maybe you'll combine it with the Sinew Vase #3 (bowl) to create a budding flower. Use your imagination and have fun! I'd love to see what you come up with - please post your make if you have time. It keeps me inspired and motivated. If you really enjoy this design, consider supporting me through my tip jar - all donations will go towards more filament and creative projects.
