Summary This Mazda MX5 NA-inspired phone dock was built from scratch, based on a model by DStBone. It's designed for the OnePlus 6T with a case and USB-C charging, but any smaller phone will fit. Changelog v1.1 Added a version with a cup holder Currently testing a way to prevent warping at warm summer temperatures (details coming soon) v1.0 Space for an NFC tag No need to cut holes for the charger Printing the Dock 1. Get an NFC tag card from AliExpress and insert it into the dock as soon as printing starts. 2. If you don't want to use the NFC tag, use an old credit card or print supports instead. 3. Let the NFC tag stay in place until the print is complete. How to Install 1. Print both the dock and clips. 2. Use super glue to attach them together. 3. Get a 90-degree USB-C charging adapter for your phone. 4. Place it according to your phone's thickness, so you can easily slide it in. 5. Unscrew your middle console to fit the cable through. 6. You can place the cable behind the middle console and all the way to the ash tray. 7. Use the holes in the ash tray to fit the cable through. 8. Plug the cable into the dock and click it into place in the ash tray. Why Did I Add an NFC Tag? I added this NFC tag to enable Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth on my phone, so it connects to my Android radio. If you'd like to know more about how I did this, let me know.
