MAZDA MIATA MX5 WATER TANK COVER AND MIRROR SLAT
thingiverse
To produce the Mazda Miata MX5 water tank cap and mirror moldings, the original mirror strip had to be digitized and transferred to a computer using precise measurements made with a caliper. The bar was meticulously detailed as left and right, and the water tank cover in minute detail, and converted into STL format. Next, we loaded G-codes prepared with Cura's BeamUP3D S software onto our 3D printer, which we had programmed to print the mirror slats using black Copolyester and the water tank cover using Flex filament. After removing the supports from the printed slats, we installed them in the vehicle. The slats were used directly on the vehicle without any surface treatment or finishing process.
