mazda gen2 speed3 ecu relocation mount
myminifactory
I am installing a 3.5in intake on a gen2 mazda speed3 and it requires an ecu relocation. YouTube video- a closer look Others online have removed the braket from the ecu and used double sided tape to stick it to the battery box. I preffer to keep the bracket because it covers the ecu and wire harness giving a more stock look. This mount is printed in tpu and uses the four screws that originally held the bracket to the side of the battery box. Screw the tpu mount to the bracket and then use the two exposed holes to mark the lid of the battery box for drilling pilot holes. Screw the remaining two screws up from the bottom of the lid into the tpu mount. The stock screws have big threads which fasten securely in the tpu. The shroud that covers the ecu can be screwed to the bracket and the shroud that hides the wire harness can be clipped into place. The tpu mount is far away from the heat of the engine and it keeps the bracket from rubbing or vibrating against the plastic batt box lid. The placement allows for hood clearance so you dont smash anything.
