Mazda / Ford 5-speed Shift Knob - for anything M10x1.25
thingiverse
This is a shift knob I modeled for my 5-speed manual Ford Fusion. Its stock shift knob is a heavy chunk of PVC, with a fake leather and chrome finish. The center of gravity is so far above the shifter shaft that it offers zero feel, so you don't know if you quite got into first gear or not.I designed this somewhat as a between of a Cobb shift knob and a Hurst-type shifter with a white ball on the end. The Cobb version is $90... so no. The Hurst is made for old-school American muscle cars with imperial threads, and this car is a half-American half-Japanese mutt with a metric shift knob thread. This knob should work with most Mazdas that have a M10x1.25 shift thread and thread pitch, so almost all MX-5s/Miatas, 323s, Proteges, 3s, 6s, probably 626s and the Ford models with Mazda transmissions in them, such as my Fusion, second and third-gen Escorts, etc. The all-Ford models such as Focus STs use M12x1.25, which will require this knob to be remodeled. The sketch on top can be changed for a 6-speed pattern, but I only sketched in a 5-speed to match my Fusion's gauge cluster font.Happy shifting!
