Mayan Sculpture (Statue 3D Scan)
thingiverse
This is a 3D-scanned model of a probable Mayan sculpture I came across on 123D Catch models. Not much information was available, but it appears to have originated from the Advanced Visualization Center at the University of South Florida. They offer 3D scans of Maya for students, which seems pretty cool. To prepare the model for 3D printing, I used MeshMixer to cut back the surrounding surfaces and create a flat base. The sculpture was then scaled up to a height of 125 mm. You can download an STL file along with a color model (zipped). The original scan is available at http://www.123dapp.com/catch/USF-Museum-Visualizations/3382857 and also at http://www.3dwp.nl
