We've finally figured out why storm troopers are so woefully inaccurate with their blaster fire. It's all because of the lackluster training they receive, which seems to be more focused on marching in lockstep than actually hitting their targets. As for 3D printing our model, I imported it into Netfabb to fix some minor errors and then mesh-mixed some supports - a trick that might just save you some precious filament in the long run.
