Maxum 1900 sc (yr 2000) windshield profile end plug / cover

On my maxum 1900 sc speedboat, which I purchased in the year 2000, some of the windshield end plugs were missing in the middle section where the window opens to provide access to the bow area. I carefully measured the remaining plug and created a three-dimensional model to print using it as a reference. The printed part worked perfectly. After printing, I sanded and rounded the corners slightly to make them less sharp to the touch. I also added some small ridges along the outside of the plug to allow it to clamp itself in place, but unfortunately, the PLA material proved too brittle for this design. When tapping it into position, the print would crumble, and I had to remove excess material by hand to make it fit. However, I was able to secure the plugs in place using silicone adhesive, just like the original part. The result looks great. If you're considering printing a similar plug, I recommend using ABS material instead of PLA. You can treat ABS prints with acetone vapor to remove print lines and give them a more professional appearance. As for compatibility, I'm not sure if other models or brands use the same profile, so it's possible that this design could be adapted for other boats as well.
