MaxTrax mount
thingiverse
Mounts for your 4x4 recovery MaxTrax tires. The standard lock & chamber lock down point that comes with the Maxtrax can be upgraded with these 3D printed parts, along with a few stainless steel components, to create a customized locking system. Search for SmoquedKiwi on social media and if you post about this project, be sure to tag me in it! Version 1 works well. Version 2 adds a lock hole to one of the keys, but keep in mind that it's only in plastic and untested, so use at your own risk. To print everything needed for 2 or 4 MaxTrax tires, you'll need to print the *.stl file four times. Rod Length: For 2 MaxTrax tires, use a rod that's 110mm long; for 4 MaxTrax tires, use one that's 140mm long; for 6 MaxTrax tires, use one that's 170mm long; and for 8 MaxTrax tires, use one that's 200mm long. To mount the MaxTrax tires as shown in the photos, you'll need to have on hand: * 8mm threaded rod, cut into pieces that are approximately 140mm long (the exact length will depend on your specific application) * 12 locking nuts (and a few non-locking ones to make cutting the rods easier) * An angle grinder (this is a quick way to trim the rods to the right length and also grind a flat spot on one end for mounting a lock)
