Maxmix M3 Hex Socket Cap Screw mod
prusaprinters

edit: I just added the R99 version of the mod. I DIDN'T PRINT THIS ONE YET BUT IT SHOULD WORK (someone already printed it and had no problems!) . Just pick the file named R99 that fits your Nano port and encoder holes. The Top is universal. (so you need two files for this mod, TOP + Bottom of your choice). Rest of the parts to 3D print are on the official Maxmix page here on prusaprinters.

This is the 0.9.5 version remix of the Maxmix. Once I have time I will update it to the latest version.

The Maxmix with M3 bolts
If you are going to build this, you don't need the M2 10mm Countersink screws from the original build at all.
Additionally you need to buy:

4x M3x20 Socket Cap Bolts
4x M3 nut
for easier installation of the M3 nuts, get one M3x25 (or longer) screw.

I needed to make some changes to make it work. The rotary encoder mount is taller, and a bit moved from the original design to fit the rotary encoder I received (check the photos to see the differences)

I also uploaded different versions, one with USB-C and one with the Mini-USB, both of those with either original encoder mount, or the modified by me, so you can choose the one that fits your encoder.

Also the light ring bracket pins were too wide apart and were too big to fit the LED rings I received. So I modified it a bit.

All the other parts can be found on the original project

tip: If you want to have the light shining from the bottom like I do, be sure to print the bottom part in translucent material.

also I put the silicone feet next to the holes so the glue has better contact with the body.

If you want to edit the files yourself, I uploaded the f3d file, but it's really a big mess, because I am not very good with Fusion 360, the original creator had such a tidy f3d file, but when I modded it, it is a bit of a mess. sorry.

Big thanks to the T3knoManzer for an amazing project! I love the idea and really love how much time he spends making it better with all the updates to the software!

Print instructions

Printer Brand: Prusa

Printer: i3 MK3

Rafts: No

Supports: Yes

Resolution: smaller the better

Infill: 20%

Filament: Prusament PLA Galaxy Black
