Maxi Case for Arduino Uno CNC Shield v3 with connectors
thingiverse
I designed this case for my personal use. However, I had a reason to create another one - I dislike small cases where cables are not neatly organized and it becomes difficult to unplug the machine without opening the case. For those who share my problem, here is my solution: Case dimensions: 136 x 104 x 63 mm I frequently use aviation plugs with a 16mm diameter because they allow me to choose the number of pins I need. For endstops, I used a 15-pin D-sub connector. The case also has holes for the CNC shield's power supply and for tools such as Werkzeuglängensensor and Tastplatte. In front of the case, there is a hole for an emergency stop knob. On top of the case, you can screw in a 40x40mm fan to cool the stepper drivers. The cooling output is located at the bottom, so it's recommended to attach "feet" to the bottom of the case to create some space between the case and the table. UPDATE #2: (version 1.2 in all files) This update focuses on minor adjustments for the case. I changed the descriptions for the aviation plugs to clarify where the motors should be connected. Additionally, I increased the height by 1mm to accommodate larger D-sub connectors. UPDATE #1: (version 1.1 in Gehäuse Unterteil_v1.1.stl) After printing the bottom case, I noticed that the Arduino's feet were too small due to soldered points. In version "Gehäuse Unterteil_v1.1," I raised them by 2mm, making a total of 3mm. I also modified the openings for the USB port and DC power port. The top case fits perfectly, allowing you to secure it with screws. PS: For those who have already printed out the lower case, don't discard it! Use a knife or cutter to raise the USB and power ports. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Information #1: If you're using more than two stepper motors (8 wires), you'll need to connect the additional motors to the "Reserve"-aviation plug because I only found aviation plugs with up to 10 pins. Information #2: I will leave all the old files online in case someone needs them.
