Check out this video showcasing an innovative glidecam design: http://youtube.com/watch?v=DkFjwnt9Pi8. This design, created by the author, aims to solve issues with existing glidecam designs that are either too complex or require hard-to-find components. This new design requires minimal non-printable parts, making it simple and easy to assemble using just a 3D printer. The author claims the system provides stable results, with impressive performance in their first video test. Unfortunately, they haven't been able to compare it to professional glidecams. Users will quickly get the hang of using this glidecam, which offers camera-moving capabilities similar to a dolly. For cost estimation, the author spent 35 euros on materials. The detailed list of required parts and their quantities is provided. You can download the Blender file for the source model as well. To assemble this glidecam, print all the parts (with specific parts printed twice), and purchase the listed items in the given quantities. A 1.5cm-long 1/4 inch screw is required to secure your camera, adjustable based on your camera type. The aluminum tube should have an outer diameter of 6mm and a wall thickness of 1mm for an inner diameter of 4mm. Follow the provided instructions for assembly: first, assemble the gimbal by inserting the cut aluminum tubes through printed parts, securing them with M4 screws, washers, and nuts. Next, secure the ball bearing in the center part of the gimbal, followed by attaching the main parts using nuts, washers, and a threaded rod. For counterweight, use a water bottle with an 8mm hole cut at the top, secured with washers and nuts on the free end of the threaded rod; this allows for easy camera weight adjustment. Try it out and let us know your experience!
