A custom-built music player with a 7-inch touchscreen display. The project began with downloading the max2play image for Raspberry Pi, which transforms it into a squeezebox server equipped with Jivelite for seamless touch screen navigation. Utilizing the free version of max2play maximizes functionality without incurring additional costs. The audio quality can be significantly improved by incorporating an IQaudio or HIFI Berry card, bypassing the limited capabilities of the Raspberry Pi's native audio output. The latter is not recommended due to its unsatisfactory performance. To accommodate storage and connectivity needs, the box was designed with a generous size, allowing for the inclusion of a USB hub and hard drive to store MP3 tracks. This spacious design also features two mounting locations for the Raspberry Pi, enabling users to determine the optimal placement depending on their specific requirements. A unique touch comes from the use of Prusa multicolor web to modify the G-code for the front panel, where the first 1mm is printed in nGen silver metallic, followed by a switch to nGen gold metallic for the remainder. The back panel is crafted with black PLA, adding an element of contrast.
