The University of Kent's Music Department has turned an inside joke into a beloved mascot. The mascot, known as Mavis, started out as a lighthearted creation but has since become a cherished symbol of the department's identity. Mavis was born from a mashup of two iconic designs: MustangDave's Armadillo and Filip Sieminski's treble clef logo. Her name is a nod to her humble beginnings as a playful joke, but she has grown into a respected and recognizable ambassador for the Music Department.
