Mavic UST Bladed Spoke Wrench (Parametric Design)

thingiverse

This is a pair of plastic knobs for truing Mavic UST bicycle rims with a 6-spline 5.65mm nipple and 1mm bladed spoke, such as my Ksyrium Elites. The object was built parametrically so you can tweak it to fit with your printer, materials, and rim type. Bike standards are numerous, after all, and they had to make it a spline instead of the typical square ones. The spoke blade tool is totally serviceable. The wrench tool seems good enough to work in a pinch, but I'm probably going to get a Park Tool SW13 for my home shop since this printed one is getting pretty gnarly after just a few adjustments. On the bright side, since it's printed, you can chuck one of these in each of your bike bags and it'll cost (and weigh) basically nothing. I printed mine using PETG on fine settings with a 0.5mm nozzle, four wall layers, and 33% infill. You might have to tweak the dimensions of this script and run them again to get something that works with your printer. Getting a tight fit is crucial; heating the wrench up with a lighter then smushing it onto a spoke nipple seems to be the best way to get a snug fit. I'm open to suggestions on how to make this one better/more durable. This object was parametrically designed using Python, FreeCAD, and CadQuery, so the code and documentation are available here. A perma-link to the code that made these files specifically is available here as well. There may have been updates/improvements/reorganizing done since then, however, so I suggest you take a look at the latest revisions too. Pretty much any design on the git project should be on my Thingiverse profile as well. Some of my designs also have videos to go with them which I am assembling into a YouTube playlist here.
