When soaring over vast bodies of water, you can boost your odds of recovery by attaching a Getterback to your Mavic Pro. The Getterback, available from various sporting goods stores and Amazon, is engineered to release a float after being submerged for any length of time. It will deploy in 10 minutes and should enable recovery in waters up to 100 feet deep. By adding the optional flasher, you can significantly increase your chances of spotting the float in the water, especially when flying at night. The flasher operates on fresh batteries for several days. I used these flashers: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L1UPKLC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Note that shortly after designing the original model, where the Getterback was mounted on top, I realized there was a 50/50 chance the sinking Mavic might land on its top, preventing the float from deploying. Therefore, in this revised version, I've placed the Getterback on the side to minimize this risk. Double Dog Note: I've created an alternative design featuring two Getterback saddles. Although I haven't tested it yet, theoretically it should work just as well as the single saddle model. Please provide feedback if you encounter any issues with the dual saddle design.
