I frequently transport my DJI Mavic Pro without a battery installed to prevent damage to the propellers when folded. A simple filler also adds extra strength to the basic frame. This custom design was created by hand in OpenSCAD as a simplified approximation of the battery shape, but it fits perfectly into the gap. It does not clip in place, so an improved 3D model of the battery could be designed with more precision if desired.
