Mavic mini goggles, XIMMERSE Visor X sun shields
prusaprinters
I am used to fly my drones with fpv goggles. DJI has introduced the Mavic Mini which I was eager for, but they don't yet offer any goggle support, neither for their own DJI Goggles nor via VR mode within their Fly app. So I searched for options and found the XIMMERSE Visor X, which works with any app without need for VR support. These goggles work well indoors, but outdoors they are lacking shielding against ambient light entering from all sides. These shield parts will almost solve this problem and are quite easy to install or to remove for transport. Meanwhile I have used these goggles for several flights with the Mavic Mini and it works really well! For connecting to Mavic Mini's radio you just need a microUSB OTG cable and a matching USB cable for your phone. Note, not all parts are displayed in the preview, no idea why. UPDATE FROM 04-09-2020: I have strengthened the upper front shield a bit after it broke when my goggles have fallen down. UPDATE FROM 02-22-2020: In bright sunlight it can happen, depending on type of phone used, that some disturbing light will enter through the gap between phone and lid. Therefore I have added a frame which will attach to the lid holding the phone. This frame should be printed with TPU. In fact you can use TPU for the other parts, too, except for the two rails. For attaching both the rails and the frame I am using thin stripes cut out of 3M duoble-sided adhesive assembly tape, no. DV2240-0740-6. UPDATE FROM 02-12-2020: I have added larger versions of left and right shields. Be aware that the new versions don't match if wearing optical goggles. In this case please use the older versions. I also have stiffened this shields to avoid too much bending by wind or sun heating. UPDATE FROM 11-25-2019: Modified front shield and added an optional adjustable bottom shield to the adjustable mirror Print Settings Printer: Anicubic I3 Mega Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 100% Filament: any PETG preferrable black Post-Printing ============= You will need two rails for left and right side. They need to be attached to the backside of the rear mirror, either by CA glue or by some double-sided adhesive. Then you can just push in the side shields. The fron shield needs to be attached to the top of the front mirror, again either by CA glue or by some double-sided adhesive. Either print them with black filament or even better, use black matte paint spray on them. Category: R/C Vehicles
