UPDATE 16 November: I've uploaded the new version of Mavic Air Lens Holder. Now there's a version for SLA 3D printers with exposed magnets, and I added more force by putting two magnets together in each hole. The product now requires 16 magnets that you can buy using the link below. Hi everyone! This is my new project: Mavic Air Lens Holder This gadget has two main parts: a top cover and a bottom cover. To keep them together, I decided to use neodymium magnets (5x1mm in size). To make this possible, we need to stop the printer when it finishes printing the highest part of the hole designed for magnets (height from the base: 5.7mm) and insert them inside. Here's how to do it: - Export your G-code with Slic3r, Cura or other software. - Identify the right layer to stop the printer (5.7mm x print resolution). - Open and modify the G-code using a text editor like TextEdit or another similar tool. - Search for the correct layer by looking for "Z" (right layer) in the code. - Add the command line to the .doc file. - Modify the X and Y coordinates if needed. - Enjoy! This is a step-by-step guide on how to include fasteners/magnets into a 3D print model by modifying the G-code.
