Mavic 2 Pro Remote Drop Mechanism
thingiverse
What do you do when COVID-19 keeps you away from your favorite niece and nephew? You build a device to drop care packages to them via drone! Amazon, step aside - we've got this! Moving the servo arm is all it takes to release the lever, sending whatever package is attached plummeting down. This clever contraption fits seamlessly onto a DJI Mavic 2 Pro, secured by a rubber band over the battery and easily removable when needed. To get started, you'll need: A micro servo - Inland 9-g or equivalent, complete with two mount screws One M-2 x 8mm allen screw or equivalent A mini receiver for your second radio system - we used a Spectrum AR620 antennae less receiver A small battery, ranging from 4 to 9 volts (check your receiver's specs) Two-sided tape or velcro to secure the battery and receiver Don't even think about it - yes, I'm saying it: dropping items from an aircraft, including drones, is strictly forbidden over people or public areas. We were fortunate enough to be on private property. If you found this project helpful, a PayPal donation would be greatly appreciated!
